The Ministry of Education has introduced the PM Uchchatar Shiksha Protsahan Scheme, a central sector scholarship program for college and university students. Students who want to pursue higher education have a great opportunity with the PM Uchchatar Shiksha Protsahan Yojana. This scholarship program, which was established to aid students from low-income backgrounds, aims to increase access to high-quality education and lower financial obstacles for worthy applicants.
Around 82,000 new scholarships are given out annually to students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs at reputable schools and universities. Class 12 scores serve as the basis for the selection procedure. Professional courses in engineering, medicine, and related professions are also included in the programme.
PM Uchchatar Shiksha Promotion Scheme: Eligibility Criteria
— In Class 12 of the 10+2 pattern or its equivalent, the applicant must score more than the 80 percentile of successful applicants in the relevant stream from the relevant Board of Examination.
—The candidate needs to be enrolled in standard degree programs. The candidate must be enrolled in classes at universities or other establishments approved by the All India Council for Technical Education and the relevant regulatory bodies.
— The applicant's gross family/parental income should not be more than Rs 4,50,000 per year.
— In addition to receiving at least 50% on the annual exam, students must maintain a minimum attendance rate of 75% to be eligible for scholarship renewal each year. Specifically, bank accounts must be opened in the pupils' names.
PM Uchchatar Shiksha Protsahan Scheme: Who Are Not Eligible?
Students enrolled in diploma programs or those seeking correspondence or remote learning are not eligible. Eligible students are those who are currently receiving benefits from other scholarship programs, such as state-run programs or fee waiver and reimbursement programs.
PM Uchchatar Shiksha Protsahan Scheme: How To Apply?
Step 1: Go to the National Scholarships Portal's applicant login page scholarships.gov.in.
Step 2: Now, register yourself by entering your details. Password and Application ID will be provided after that.
Step 2: Click “Login” after entering the details and Captcha.
Step 3: Enter the OTP that was sent to your registered mobile number on the screen. The Password Reset screen will be displayed. Make a new password and make sure it works.
Step 4: Press “Submit.” After that, you'll be taken to the “Applicant's Dashboard.”
Step 5: Select “Application Form”, enter the information, and attach the files. The Digilocker service will be used to verify the candidate's credentials, including caste and educational background.
Step 6: Now click on 'Submit' and save the form for later use.
This initiative's main objective is to close the educational access gap for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. The program guarantees that more students may finish their education and make significant contributions to society by lowering dropout rates brought on by financial difficulties. Additionally, it supports the government's goal of establishing an inclusive and equal educational system.
