NCERT Report: NCERT has prepared a report to evaluate the results of class XII. This report has been prepared by NCERT's organization 'Parakh'. In this report, it has been said that the marks (assessment) from class 9th to class XII should also be added in the result of class XII. Apart from this, vocational and skill courses should be promoted. This proposal has been given in a report “Establishing Equity in Education Boards”. In which it has been suggested to include cumulative performance metrics. According to which, class 9, class 10 and class XI should have 25 percent weightage in the result of class XII.
After discussions with all 32 education boards for about a year, it has been suggested to make vocational and skill courses compulsory for all students. In which data management, coding, application development, artificial intelligence, music, art and craft etc. should be made compulsory for holistic learning, this has also been written in the new education policy.
The report also suggests checking teacher performance and improving school infrastructure, which includes ensuring availability of potable water, well-resourced libraries, adequate sports facilities to create a conducive environment for learning.
The report also recommends that the Class XII results should be divided into formative and summative assessments. Formative assessment will include self-reflection, student portfolio, teacher evaluation, project execution and group discussions, while summative assessment will include mid-term and final term examinations.
According to the report, 70% formative and 30% summative assessment should be given in class IX, 50% formative and 50% summative assessment in class X, 40% formative and 60% summative assessment in class XI and 30% formative and 70% summative assessment in class XII.
