JAM 2024: Extended registration window closes today on jam.iitm.ac.in | Competitive Exams-Inspire To Hire


The extended last date to register for the Joint Admission Test for Masters or JAM 2024 is today, October 25. Those who are yet to apply for the exam can visit jam.iitm.ac.in and complete the process. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras is organising the exam this year.

Originally, the last date to apply for the exam was October 13 which was first extended to October 20 and then to October 25.

Application fee of JAM 2024:

For SC, ST and PwD categories: 900 for one paper and 1,250 for two papers

For all others: 1,800 for one and 2,500 for two papers.

There are seven papers in JAM 2024: Biotechnology, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Geology and Mathematical Statistics.

JAM will be held in computer based mode at exam centres located in 100 cities across the country.

Eligibility criteria of JAM 2024:

Candidates need an undergraduate degree to take JAM. Those who are in the final year of their undergraduate degree can also appear in JAM.

Foreign nationals with Indian degrees are also eligible to write the exam but if qualified, admissions will be subject to rules of the institution they apply at.

There is no age limit to appear in the examination.

JAM 2024 will fill around 3,000 postgraduate seats at IITs and over 2,000 seats at IISc Bangalore, NITs, IIEST Shibpur, SLIET, and DIAT.

Candidates who qualify in JAM become eligible for admission to MSc, MSc (Tech), MSc- MTech Dual Degree, MS (Research), Joint MSc- PhD, and MSc- PhD Dual Degree courses.
